感触のデザイン

漆塗りの感触に注目した。カップは手で取り、口に運び、唇に当てるものだから、漆塗りに触れた時の感触も大事なデザイン要素になる。

美術工芸品は使うことよりも、目で見て愛でることで存在価値があるが、フリーカップなような漆器は、日常的に使う中で存在価値がないと、あえてその漆器を使うこともなくなる。

漆塗りの色や艶に違いはあるが、感触に違いがあるのだろうか？たぶん、質の良い漆塗りとそうでない漆塗りには当然違いはあるだろうけど、素人には比較でもしない限りわからないだろう。

陶磁器やガラスに比べて柔らかい感触がする、これは漆器の特徴のひとつ、それに陶磁器やガラスの器と比べて漆器はとても軽いので、それも感触の柔らかさを増幅させる。

だから、器の材料自体で、感触の柔らかさは担保されているので、そこをさらに追求するよりは、他に何か別のことを重ねた方が漆器ならではの、漆器でしかできない感触が生まれると考えた。

ところで、漆器の下地は木、木はガラスや陶磁器よりも断熱性能が高い。断熱性能が高いとは熱をあまり伝えないこと。熱い飲み物を入れると陶磁器はすぐに手で持てなくなるし、ガラスが一番熱を伝えやすいので、耐熱ガラスでない普通のガラスでは熱による急激な温度変化に耐えられずに割れてしまう。その点、漆器は熱い飲み物を入れても、ほの温かくはなるが、手で持てない程熱くはならない。これは漆器の一番の特徴ではないか、だから安心して漆器に唇をつけることができ、飲み口の厚みを変えて、その日の気分や中に入れる飲み物によって飲み口の位置を変えるデザインも自然に成り立つ。

このほの温かくなることと元々の漆塗りの柔らかな感触をうまく生かすことで、フリーカップの漆塗りについて考えることにした。

もし、漆器を持った時の感触が人肌のようだったら、ほの温かくなるカップはまさに人肌くらいの温度にはなるので、それを唇に押し当てても違和感がないし、むしろ唇に人肌の感触を感じるのは気持ちがよいのではないか、それは赤ちゃんの時にお母さんのおっぱいを吸う感触に似ているのではないか、それは口づけを交わす時の感触に似ているのではないか、それは老若男女問わず誰にとっても気持ちがよい感触ではないか。

漆塗りの柔らかな感触からちょっと進めて、人肌の感触にならないか。飲み物が入ってカップ全体の温度が変わって人肌の感触になる。飲み物が入って完結するデザイン。カップをその日の気分で使いはじめて、最後は気持ちよく終わる。朝のコーヒータイムでこのカップを使えば、気分よく1日をはじめられるかもしれない。

ただ、漆塗りで人肌の感触を出すことは可能なのか、上塗りの仕上げの話になると思うが、こうなると現地に行って直接、輪島の塗師と話をするしかない。

It feels soft compared to ceramics and glass, this is one of the features of lacquerware, and lacquerware is very light compared to ceramics and glassware, so it also amplifies the softness of feel.

So, because the softness of the feel is secured by the material of the container itself, it is more unique to lacquer than other pursuit of further pursuit of it, a touch that can only be made with lacquer ware is born I thought.

By the way, the base of lacquerware is trees, the trees have higher thermal insulation performance than glass and ceramics. Heat insulation performance is high and not to convey much heat. Putting a hot drink makes it impossible for the pottery to hold hands at once and glass is the easiest to transmit heat, so ordinary glass that is not heat-resistant glass can not endure sudden temperature change due to heat and will crack. On that point, even if hot drinks are put in, the lacquerware will be warm, but it will not get hot enough to hold it with your hands. This is the most characteristic of lacquer ware, so you can put your lips on the lacquer ware with confidence, change the thickness of the drinking mouth, change the position of the drinking mouth by the mood of the day and the drink put in it .

I decided to think about lacquering of free cups by making good use of this warmer feeling and the soft feel of the original lacquering.

If the feeling when holding the lacquer ware is like human skin, the warming cup becomes about the temperature of human skin, so even if you press it against your lips it does not make you feel uncomfortable, Is not it pleasant to feel the feeling of the skin, is it like the feel of sucking mother's tits at baby time, is not it like the feeling at the time of kissing kisses? Is not it a pleasant feeling for anyone regardless of age and sex?

Let's advance a little from the soft touch of lacquer finish, does not it feel human skin? A drink enters and the temperature of the whole cup changes and it becomes a feel of human skin. A design that contains drinks and is completed. The cup is used in the mood of the day, the end finishes pleasantly. If you use this cup in the morning coffee time, you may be able to start your day.
