他律する建築

バルコニーや外廊下を道に例え、集合住宅全体を立体的な街のように考えることがある。それは、集合住宅でなくても、商業施設でもよくある手法で、戸建ての住宅でも、敷地周辺の街並みや街路のアクティビティーに似せて、内部空間のプランニングを考えることがある。

敷地周辺の環境との連続性が確保でき、集合住宅て言えば、たくさんの人が集まって住む、ということに焦点を当てれば、それは街そのものなので、自然と馴染む考え方だし、それをコンセプトにした作品にはよくお目にかかる。

ただ、街の一部としての役割にはならないのかな、といつも思う。

建築としては、敷地内で自律して、自己完結する。それは建築基準法でも、1つの敷地に1つの建物、と決められているし、建築家としても、自律した建築を作品としてつくりたいだろうから、必然的にそうなる。

自律した自己完結の建築だけでは街は成り立たない。

街には他律した建築も必要で、この場合、他律とは自らの意志だけでは完結しないこと、であり、例えば、季節や時間によって、人が集まる場所が変わったり、建築の使われ方が変わったりすること。

他律が全く無い街が住宅街で、単一の用途の建築で形成されている場合が多く、住宅街だとお互いのプライバシーを気にして何かと閉鎖的になりがちであり、それは建築自体が自律して、自己完結しているから、排他的になるためである。

だから、集合住宅でも、戸建ての住宅でも、他律する建築を目指せば、それはすなわち、周辺環境と良好な関係が築け、街に対して影響力を持つ建築をつくることができるし、その方が街の一部としての役割も担い、街並みを形成する上でも積極的に関与できるのではないかと考えている。

The city can not be built with self-contained architecture alone.

The city also needs a self-designed architecture, and in this case, the self-indulgence is not complete by its own will. For example, depending on the season or time, the place where people gather changes, how the architecture is used Change.

The town where there is no other rule at all is a residential area, and it is often formed of a single-use architecture, and in the case of a residential area, it tends to be closed with something concerned about each other's privacy. Because it is autonomous and self-contained, it is exclusive.
