翡翠

「星に願いを」、七夕の夜、ルーシー・リーの白釉皿に翡翠色した和菓子を思い出しながら、別の情景が広がる。

突然の雨、粒がはじける大きな音が足元からしはじめ、人の賑わいが雨音に変わったことに気づく。

曇りではあったが、陽の光が薄い半透明な膜を張り、ぼんやりと辺りを包み込んで、人が観光地らしさを辛うじて保っていたが、いつの間にか、人と入れ替わり、雨粒が周りから見えないように薄暗い幕を築く。

時々差す陽が水面を差し、返しの白い筋が尾を引き、目に水面の翡翠色を感じさせていたが、今は空からの粒によって真の翡翠を見せる、まるで、それを見せるために、ひとりここにいた。

雨は天からも地からも降る。

そして、翡翠はまた水面に溶けていった。
