職人の極み

微細な違いに気づく前に、それまでの認識で判断をしてしまうから、その微細な違い自体に気づくところまで行かないのだが、何か違和感が残る。

それは認識とのズレで、良い方にズレれば意外性があり、サプライズとして受け止められ、好印象になるが、悪い方にズレれば、なぜだと違和感が残る。

その違和感は、それまでの認識には無いことだから、理解ができないし、そうで無い方が良いのではと思ってしまうが、違和感は期待感の裏返しであり、そもそも駄目ならば違和感も無く、否定するのみである。

だから、その違和感を感じつつ、ただ、理解ができないから、その違和感はそのまま放っておくしかない。

ところが、その違和感がそのうち感じなくなる。その違和感自体に慣れて感じなくなったのかもしれないが、もしかしたら、その違和感が何かを整える、土台をつくる、リセットする役目を担っており、その先のことを積み重ねていくと、いつしか違和感が無くなる、それは役目を終えて、次の段階に移乗したことかもしれない。

そのような違和感、認識とのズレをわざと計算してつくり出して、自分の世界に引きずり込み、様々な表現を見せつけていき、人を魅了する、その職人は日常的にそこにいる。
