揺らぎのデザイン

揺らぎがありながら、納まる所はきちんと納まっていると、何か心をくすぐられたような気になる。

カトラリーの話、物の話。

縦横、垂直水平の線と面がきちんと出ていることは、精度の証だから、それがきちんとできる技術は必要で、まず高い技術があっての話だが、それだけでは人の心を打つ物はできない。

ここで2通り考えられる。1つは、縦横、垂直水平の線と面がきちんと通っている幾何学形態のバランスの緊張感で見せる方法と、もう1つは、縦横、垂直水平の線と面の交わる所はしっかりと押さえ、それで幾何学形態のバランスは担保しつつ、交わる所に至るまでに心に響く揺らぎを与える方法である。

もちろん、どちらも難しい、緊張感ある幾何学形態のバランスを生み出すことも、心に響く揺らぎを生み出すことも。緊張感が無く、だらけた幾何学形態になるか、心に何も響かない、何ともだらしが無い揺らぎになるか、どちらもつくり出すには相当な能力が必要になる。

どちらが良いということは無いが、好みの問題か、物によって使い分けしても良いが、今日、食卓で使うスプーンを探していた。

前々から探している形があり、それはある料理屋さんで使われていたスプーンを目にして、いつもならば、その場でお店の人に尋ねるのだが、その時はたぶんと当てがあったので、自分で探せばわかるだろうと、それがなかなか無く、結局思い違いをしていた。

今朝、ふと思い立ち、もしかしたらと探し、たぶんこれだというスプーンを見つけ、それは手づくりの跡がある、ひとつとして同じものが無い、揺らぎがある物、その揺らぎの様を選んで、心に響く物を購入した。

画像のスプーンは代替の物として普段使っているもので、似ているが、揺らぎが無い。手元に届いたら比べてみるつもりだけれども、意図せずに生まれる揺らぎもデザインの範疇だと改めて思うだろう。

"Fluctuating Design"

There's a form I've been looking for before, and when I see a spoon used at a restaurant, I usually ask the shop's people on the spot, but at that time I was probably guessing So, if I could find it by myself, I couldn't find it easily, and ended up making a mistake.

This morning, I suddenly thought, looked for it, and found a spoon that was probably this, there was a trace of handmade, there was no one thing as a thing, there was a fluctuation, I chose something that fluctuates, something that touches my heart Purchased.

The spoon in the image is something I usually use as a substitute, similar but without fluctuations. I'm going to compare it when it arrives, but I think that the unintentional fluctuations are another category of design.
