置き換え作業中

何か、それでいいんじゃないの、それもあるよね、そこに注目するのか、と思わせてくれるもの、それは今まで見聞きしなかったもの、考えてもみなかったこと、思いもしなかったことに気づいた時にそうなるが、人にそう思わせるものをつくりたいといつも思っている。

それは奇をてらう訳ではなくて、日常的にいつも見てはいるけれど、そこを意識して見ることが無かった、見る必要もなかったことに、ある違う意味付けや理由付けがされることにより、とても掛け替えのないものになるようなことで、何でもないことが実は重要なんだと思わせたい。

だから、それは既存の枠組みの中だけを見ていたら、自分が気がづかないから、まず自分が気がつかないと人に伝えられないから、その種はほんの些細な、身近なことからはじめて、それはものづくりとは関係が無い時もあるけれど、何でも結局はものづくりに繋げられるので、そこにはお手本は無く、何でもはじめから構築して、結果そうすると、勝手に枠組みから外れてくれるので、そこで何かに自分が気づき、今度はそれを人にわかる言葉に置き換えて伝える、その置き換える作業がデザインだと考えている。

そして、今、その置き換え作業中、なかなか人にわかってもらえるデザインが見つからない、そういう時は、またはじめに戻って、種からはじめる。

I realized that design was the task of replacing it with words that people could understand.

And now, during the replacement work, it is difficult to find a design that people can easily understand. In such a case, return to the beginning and start with the seed.
