無視できないコンテクスト

敷地の周辺環境のコンテクストを顕著化するために建築があると考えてみる。建築を設計する上での手掛かりとしてコンテクストを反映し利用しようとするが、そのコンテクスト自体は読み取らなくてはならず、普段は意識化されていないことが多い。建築ができてはじめてコンテクストが意識される。建築をつくることが先にあるからコンテクストを読み取る必要があるのだが、コンテクストは建築をつくる以前からそこに存在している。ならば、できあがる建築は最終的にはコンテクストの一部に組み込まれることになる。それは風景の一部になることであり、自律した建築にはならないだろう。そうなると、もし自律した建築を目指すならば、コンテクストは無視するしかないが、無視をしてはただ奇抜な建築を演じるだけにもなる。だから、コンテクストを書き換えてみようと考えた。

"Context that cannot be ignored"

Consider that there is architecture to make the context of the surrounding environment of the site prominent. I try to reflect and use the context as a clue in designing the architecture, but the context itself must be read, and it is often not conscious. The context is conscious only after the construction is completed. It is necessary to read the context because building the architecture comes first, but the context has existed there even before the building was built. If so, the resulting architecture will eventually be incorporated into part of the context. It will be part of the landscape, not autonomous architecture. Then, if you aim for autonomous architecture, you have no choice but to ignore the context, but if you ignore it, you will just play a strange architecture. So I decided to rewrite the context.
