コンテクストの反映

敷地の周辺環境のコンテクストを読み取り設計に反映させる手法は当たり前のように行われていて、その場所特有の建築を生み出すためには必須の手法となっている。コンテクストを読み取るにあたり、周辺環境が良い方がいいかもしれないが、例えば、眺望が良い、公園や緑が目の前にある、水辺の近くなど、しかし、ネガティブな環境や一見平凡な環境でも関係が無く、周辺環境のコンテクストの優劣に関係が無く、コンテクストを読み取り設計に反映させる。それは建築が動かない物で、その土地の状況に依存せざるを得ないので、否応なしにコンテクストと対峙せざるを得ないからである。もちろん、全く対峙しないと選択もあり得るがそれもコンテクストを読み取った結果のことであるならば許されるだろう。

"Reflection of context"

The method of reading the context of the surrounding environment of the site and reflecting it in the design is taken for granted, and it is an indispensable method for creating the architecture peculiar to the place. In reading the context, it may be better to have a good surrounding environment, for example, a good view, a park or greenery in front of you, near the water, etc., but it also matters in a negative environment or a seemingly mediocre environment. There is no relation to the superiority or inferiority of the context of the surrounding environment, and the context is read and reflected in the design. This is because architecture does not move and it has to depend on the situation of the land, so it has to confront the context inevitably. Of course, if you don't confront at all, you may have a choice, but that would be acceptable if it was the result of reading the context.
