自らコンテクストをつくる

建築は自ら周辺環境のコンテクストをつくっていくものだと思うようになってきた。ただ、それは建築が強いコンテクストを発動するようなことではなく、元々存在する周辺環境のコンテクストを、それが良かろうと悪かろうと、書き換えるようなことであり、書き換える時の指針を自らに求めることがコンテクストを自らつくっていくことになると考えた。

敷地境界線を超えて建築は存在することができないので、周辺環境に影響を与えることはあっても、直接周辺環境を変えることはできない。故に、計画の初めには、元々ある周辺環境のコンテクストからの影響を考慮しなくてはならない。それが設計をする上での手掛かりにもなるが、どうしてもコンテクストに引きずられて迎合してしまう場合もあるのではないか。

コンテクストを書き換えることは、自由に建築をつくることにつながるかもしれないが、建築くらいの大きなスケールだから可能なことではないかと考えている。

"Create your own context"

I have come to think that architecture creates the context of the surrounding environment. However, it is not like building a strong context, but rewriting the original context of the surrounding environment, whether it is good or bad, and asking oneself for guidelines when rewriting. I thought that I would create the context myself.

Since architecture cannot exist beyond the boundary of the site, it may affect the surrounding environment, but it cannot directly change the surrounding environment. Therefore, at the beginning of the plan, the influence of the context of the original surrounding environment must be considered. It can be a clue in designing, but it may be dragged by the context and accepted.

Rewriting the context may lead to the creation of architecture freely, but I think it is possible because it is a large scale of architecture.
