不完全な美

不完全な「美」もあると思う。美を感じる時、人は自分の完全性の基準に照らし合わせて、完全だと感じる時に美を感じる。それだけ美には崇高さを求め、そもそも「美」は完全なものだけに宿るものと思い込んでいる。

だが、不完全なものから完全にいたる途中の「美」、あるいは、完全なものから不完全なものになった時の「美」も存在するだろう。どちらも完全なものに宿る美とは違うかもしれないが、何かが足りない、何かが抜け落ちているものを人は想像力を働かせて補い見て「美」を感じることができるはずである。
