デザイン放棄

輪郭は建築の外形をなぞるが、人の意識に浮かぶ形もなぞる。両方が一致する場合は輪郭が人の意識にそのまま思い浮かぶ。輪郭を創造する側は一致させようとする。それは当たり前だが、はじめから一致させるのを止め、人の意識に現れる形を輪郭とは別の形、その形はコントロールしない、人の意識に任せてしまうようなやり方をしてみる。

意識に思い浮かぶ形までコントロールするのがデザインだとしたら、デザインすることを放棄することになるかもしれない。

If design is about controlling the shape that comes to mind, you may abandon designing.
