都市に居たいと思わせる

都市から利便性が無くなったらと考えてみると、都市としての魅力が半減するかどうかという考えが思い浮かんだ。そのくらい、都市の魅力は利便性にあると考えている。もちろん都市の魅力は利便性だけではないが、全ての魅力が利便性に集約されるのではないかと思ってしまう。

利便性のひとつは交通網かもしれない。特に鉄道の恩恵は日々感じる。勝手なイメージだが、地下鉄も含め鉄道による移動だけである程度済ますことできる街が都市と呼べるような気がする。

人も物も移動に関わる労力とコストは膨大であり、それが軽減できる場所が都市だから人も物も集中するのだろう。

利便性を手放すのは無理かもしれないが、すでに私たちの生活は利便性という指標で常に、見えないところでも、測られているので、しかし、利便性が無くても都市に居たいと思わせる何かがあるのは確かなような気がするので、それが文化とは安直にはいわないが、それを建築化してみたい。

I think that the attraction of the city lies in its convenience. Of course, the charm of the city is not only convenience, but I think that all the charms are concentrated in convenience.

One of the conveniences may be the transportation network. In particular, I feel the benefits of railways every day. It's a selfish image, but I feel that a city that can be moved to some extent by rail, including the subway, can be called a city.

The labor and cost involved in moving people and goods is enormous, and since the place where it can be reduced is a city, people and goods will be concentrated.

It may not be possible to let go of convenience, but already our lives are always measured in the invisible area by the index of convenience, but we want to stay in the city even if it is not convenient. I'm sure there's something to do, so I'm not saying it's a culture, but I want to build it.
